NEWS:
BLAZING SADDLES PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES (updated 12/10/23)
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Because of the COVID pandemic, we have changed how we operate to make sure we keep our community safe, as decided by the Blazing Saddles board. Although we do have members in their 20s and 30s, the vast majority of our regulars are in their 50s, 60s, and 70s, and it is our priority to create a safe environment for all of them. Please read our policies and procedures below and prepare accordingly before you come.
1) Face masks are recommended indoors. The pandemic is not over yet, and we endeavor to protect all our members, but especially our kūpuna (elders) who are at greater risk, those who are taking care of their kūpuna, or those with health issues. For better protection, we recommend a procedure mask (e.g., medical) or respirator (e.g.,KN95, N-95) following CDC guidelines. It may be advisable to bring two in case you tend to sweat a lot while dancing; face masks are less effective when wet.
Although we do not require proof of vaccination, we highly recommend getting the current recommended COVID vaccination.
And, of course, if you are ill, we ask you not to come and return when you are better.
2) We encourage social distancing while dancing. Luckily, line dancing, by its general nature, has people spread out, and with an entire ballroom at our disposal, it will be easy for everyone to be spaced out comfortably.
We also open the ballroom doors to create greater ventilation in the ballroom.
3) Water & food - Food & drink are not allowed on the ballroom floor. Tables will be set up outside the ballroom in the open air. and we invite you to take breaks and socialize there. Blazing Saddles will no longer be providing water or cups, so we encourage you to bring your own filled water bottle to our events to stay hydrated.
Blazing Saddles has resumed providing snacks and having occasional potluck parties, but these again will be held outside.
Mahalo nui and see you on our dance floor! Yeehaw!
